Notice of Nov 2017 Meeting Change of Venue & Time

The Hudson Essex Passaic Soil Conservation District is a division of State government, organized under the New Jersey Soil Conservation Act, NJSA 4:24-1 et seq. As a public subdivision of the State all board meetings are subject to public notice and open to public attendance. As such, the Board of Supervisors meeting regularly scheduled for Thursday November 2nd, 2017, will be held at 4:00 p.m. at The Rutgers Eco-Complex, 1200 Florence-Columbus Road, Bordentown, NJ  08505-4200. The Board may enter into a closed Executive Session to discuss legal and /or other confidential matters.

Please contact the HEPSCD District Office at 862-333-4505 prior to attendance to verify the public meeting remains on the schedule.

2018 Conservation Poster Contest Announced

The theme is “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home”. Download the poster contest brochure here. The deadline for submittal to the HEPSCD is February 28, 2018 (postmarked or delivered).

The District will forward the best entry for each grade level to the state contest for competition.

Poster Evaluations National Poster Contest entries are reviewed by judges. The posters are evaluated on the following criteria:

Conservation message (50 percent) (Poster uses correct theme)

Visual effectiveness (30 percent)

Originality (10 percent) and

Universal appeal (10 percent)

Also taken into consideration artwork is completed on poster is that of participant (unless noted on entry form)
